Your data stays yours.

When you connect your store to LayerTen, we access:

• Product catalog data — titles, descriptions, images, categories, attributes, pricing, and inventory levels.
• Store configuration — platform type, currency, shipping zones, and return policies.
• Account information — your name, email, company name, and billing details.
• Agent interaction data — anonymized logs of how AI buyer agents query and interact with your enriched product data.

We do not collect your customers' personal information, browsing behavior, payment details, or any data about individual shoppers on your store.

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Enrich and structure your product data so AI agents can read, compare, and recommend your products.
• Generate your Agent Score and competitive benchmarks.
• Optimize responses when AI buyer agents query your product category.
• Provide you with analytics on agent traffic, recommendation share, and conversion data.

We never use your data to train machine learning models that could benefit your competitors. Your enriched data serves only your store.

• Sell your data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. Ever.
• Share with competitors. Each merchant's data is siloed. If a competitor also uses LayerTen, they cannot see your pricing, catalog, or optimization strategy.
• Use data for cross-merchant insights. We don't aggregate your data with other merchants to create industry reports or benchmarks that expose individual businesses.
• Track your shoppers. We interact with AI agents, not human shoppers. We don't place cookies, pixels, or trackers on your website.

All data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud providers. Access to merchant data is restricted to essential operations staff under strict role-based access controls.

We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing. Sensitive fields (pricing rules, margin data) receive additional field-level encryption.

By default, data is stored in the United States (US-East). European merchants on Growth and Enterprise plans can request EU data residency (Frankfurt, Germany). Additional regions are available on Enterprise plans.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you cancel:

• All product data and enrichment records are permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Anonymized, aggregated analytics (e.g., total query counts) may be retained for service improvement but contain no identifiable merchant information.
• Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by tax law.

You can request a full data export in JSON format at any time from your dashboard or by emailing privacy@layerten.ai.

LayerTen integrates with AI agent platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, etc.) to deliver your enriched product data to buyer agents. When an agent queries your category, we send your optimized product data to that platform. We do not send your raw pricing rules, margin data, or competitive strategy — only the final, optimized product response.

We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. We never see or store your full credit card number.

LayerTen complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to:

• Access all data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of all your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@layerten.ai and we'll respond within 72 hours.

We'll notify you by email at least 30 days before making material changes to this policy. Minor clarifications may be made without notice but will always be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
